How to cancel BT

Cancel directly with BT. Stopping your card payment does not end the contract, so you could still owe money.

Steps

  1. Check contract in My Account
  2. Call 0800 800 150 or use Contact Us
  3. Give 30 days notice. Most switchers let the new provider notify BT

Notice period

30 days. An early leaving charge may apply within a minimum term.

Before you finish

  • Check your next billing date, so you cancel in time.
  • Keep the cancellation confirmation until after that date.
  • Save or export anything you want to keep from your account.
